Swedish bus shelter on SW Oleson Rd

This unique bus shelter “A Little Bit of Sweden” sits across the street from Ross Fogelquist’s lovely home devoted to all things Swedish and Scandinavian. Ross had taken photos of similar bus shelters in Sweden and came home to work with the Garden Home Crossing Committee who have been so important to the landscaping of the reconstructed Oleson Road in 2008.

The shelter is located on the west side of Oleson at S.W. 89th. Nearby families and members of the Garden Home Crossing Committee cleared the ground, donated and purchased plants for the surrounding Swedish-inspired garden, designed, constructed and painted the shelter and buried a time capsule to remember the event. BusshallPlats, the name on the front of the shelter means “Bus Stop.”
