This picture taken year before present school was constructed.
It’s nice to see the pictures of my grandmother’s school. That’s her the tall one 2nd to the left of the teacher. Clara Peterson and in front is her little brother Adolf with the overalls. She contributed many photos and letters for the school in 1982 for their book of the history of Garden Home school. That was 40 years ago. She’s been gone 36 years now and I miss her and the stories she would tell of the 1st real school house in Garden Home. I believe before the school house was built the school was held above the general mercantile store..
Thank you for the wonderful comment. The photograph shows the children on the front porch of the White Store located where Dairy Queen is today. The new school building opened the following year.
